Do make sure to look at the Moon tonight and the coming weekend. It will be a perigee full Moon, and will not be this close or as brilliant until August 2014.

Mars Mission

The one tonne rover will descend at 13,000 mph through the Martian atmosphere. It will utilize a £1.67 billion heat shield, a supersonic parachute and eight rocket thrusters to manage the landing. 17 cameras and sampling instruments will perform tests on the Martian environment to discern for the presence of microscopic life (or previous life) and to determine the possibilities of a future manned mission.
